Terms of Service.

What we are

diamonds.forsale is a free educational tool and matchmaking service for people selling diamonds. We provide:

  • A calculator that estimates four price bands (retail, private resale, jeweler offer, pawn) based on the 4 Cs.
  • Editorial guides to selling, the 4 Cs, the diamond industry, and what jewelers actually pay.
  • A directory of vetted jewelers in 24+ US metros (when our jewelers directory is live).
  • An optional service to forward your diamond details to 1–3 vetted local jewelers in our network.

We are not a jewelry retailer, broker, or appraiser. We don't take payments, hold stones, or escrow funds.

Estimates are not appraisals

The price calculator returns heuristic estimates — a useful floor and ceiling. They are not formal appraisals and are not insurance-grade. Anyone selling a diamond above $5,000 should get a written offer from at least 2 GIA-certified jewelers before transacting.

If you submit your diamond for matching

  • You confirm the diamond is yours to sell.
  • You understand that jeweler offers will arrive within ~48 hours, by your chosen contact method.
  • You're under no obligation to accept any offer.
  • If you accept an offer, the transaction is between you and the jeweler. We are not a party.

Affiliate disclosure

Some external links earn us commissions (online retailers, wholesalers). This never changes editorial picks or rankings. Disclosed in the site footer.

Limits of liability

Diamond prices change. Calculator output and editorial content reflect our best read of the market at time of publication. We are not liable for losses from acting on outdated estimates.

We are not a party to any transaction between you and a jeweler.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Submit details for stones you don't own.
  • Misrepresent diamond grades (color, clarity, certificate).
  • Use the matching service to spam jewelers.
  • Scrape our calculator or jeweler directory.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes announced on the home page for 30 days. Continued use after a change means acceptance.

Governing law

Governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA. Disputes go to state or federal courts in New York County, NY.
